3D database
The database of 3D parts and assembly’s has grown over time to about 200 custom made files. The database included in SolidWorks provides for basic parts such as nuts bolts screws.
The custom made files consist mainly of arrows, tooling such as allen key’s, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. all needed parts that are not in any given library of parts.
This may seem unnecessary to create these files in a CAD software. Taking into account that the assembly instruction is created with configurations in the 3D model, the simple placing of
e.g. an arrow on top of the screenshot will not be of sufficient quality or flexibility.
A animated assembly instruction is only possible if all objects that are to be animated are volume models and parts.
