product development
product development
Having created the basic model design, further product development can now take place.
Using modular design and construction as a basis of the furniture piece, the addition of design variations can easily be achieved. The Database of different door handles, drawer grips etc. can be used to give the product a different look and design.
The 2 illustrations, that can be seen above, are not rendered or graphically prepared. They represent a screenshot made in SolidWorks.
To create this, relative basic, alternative furniture design it was necessary to open the door assembly file and create a second configuration in which the solid front of the door was replaced by a glass.
The possibilities are endless from defining a different material to using different fittings etc.
All of this can be achieved in this one assembly file of the door. These configurations are then in turn available in every product that uses the same door.
This principal of construction will over time produce a large library of products and components which ultimately can be ''just put together'' to make a whole new product.
In essence the product development and design alternatives can be achieved very time efficient.
